The latest alleged outrage from the Muslim world is being directed at pop singer and actress Selena Gomez, who while spending the New Year’s holiday in Dubai posted this “offensive” pic of a visit to the Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque to her Instagram account:
Gomez has since deleted the pic from her account without comment.
However, according to media reports, many Instagram users commented about the offensive nature of the photograph before it was deleted. Fox News:
Gomez, 22, got most of the nasty comments when she posted a now-deleted picture of herself showing off her bare ankle. Gomez followers immediately began commenting on the snapshot, with some calling the pose offensive.
“I was just thinking, why purposely go to a sacred place and do something considered disrespectful?” one user wrote, according to Us Weekly.
Selena Gomez‘s trip to Abu Dhabi has provoked anger, accusations of impropriety and now a deleted Instagram post, after the pop star exposed her ankles during a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque earlier this week.

There is a second picture from her visit to the mosque that some people find disrespectful as well. This second photo hasn’t been deleted … yet:
And then there’s this pic from Dubai where Gomez quotes Philippians 3:14 in her caption:
Screenshot of the caption:
We’ll have to see if these other pics get deleted as well or if Gomez makes a comment on the supposed controversy.
