But check out PETA’s hypocrisy. The alleged animal-rights organization had no problem honoring Mayor Bill de Blasio as its “2014 Person of the Year” despite the mayor’s role in the killing of a groundhog in February:

As for the celebration in Brasstown, there will be a possum drop, just not with a live possum. Festival organizer Clay Logan explains:
“We’ll probably just lower some other form of possum, a dead possum, road kill maybe, or possum stew.”
How festive.
