In the wake of the assasination-style murder of two cops in Brooklyn on Saturday, the NYPD is on the lookout for other threats against its officers on social media.
Which brings us to this. Meet “Woodgramflexinn” who thought it would be funny to post a threat against the NYPD using the hashtag #ShootThePolice:

The unidentified man was later released after being cleared as a threat:

Why was he released you might ask?
Tenn. man questioned about an Instagram threat to kill "2 more" NYPD cops says he posted it while being drunk & high. http://t.co/nCAYR4NKol

So making death threats while drinking and smoking pot absolves one of any responsibility? That’s good to know for the future. However, why didn’t they arrest him on drug charges?
And here’s hoping the NYPD investigates every single other #ShootThePolice tweet.
