It’s like CNN political analyst Sally Kohn is living in some sort of bizarre world where the results of last night’s “wave” of Republican victories never happened. She tweeted this morning:
Last thing I needed to see on my ride into the city was @EmpireStateBldg all lit up red. So, uh, thanks @CNNPolitics…

Tune into @CNN from 3:00am to 5:00am EST and watch me try not to cry on air.

I feel awash in the overuse of the phrase "tidal wave"
— Sally Kohn (@sallykohn) November 5, 2014
Sally Kohn: “If I hear tidal wave again, my head might explode … This is not a friggin tidal wave"
— Charlie Spiering (@charliespiering) November 5, 2014
So let’s get this straight: It’s not a “friggin tidal wave,” but the sight of the color red might drive her to tears on air? Sheesh. A real wave might have hospitalized poor Sally.
And in this bizarre world of hers, there was actually some good news from last night:
Democrats losing governor’s race in Massachusetts is hard.
But Mass electing a pro-marriage equality Republican is pretty awesome.

This election is not a shellacking. It’s a speed bump.
The long arc of history bends toward an increasingly progressive electorate.

More #silverlining — according to CNN exit polls at moment, Dems win with women by 8 pts & Latino voters by 30 pts! http://t.co/IVCdSinstp

It’s bizzare blue maybe, but not Democratic blue.
And here’s her advice for the president going forward:
Obama was compromising plenty before last night. It’s time for Republicans to join him and govern! http://t.co/M847dxlGP5
— Sally Kohn (@sallykohn) November 5, 2014
Just so we’re clear, “working with Democrats” does not mean trying to repeal Obamacare for the umpteenth time.

We hope Kohn keeps those tissues handy because if she really believes what she just wrote, there will be more tears in her future. Lots of them.
