Senator Bernie Sanders is thinking out loud again, and exploring possible methods for convincing Congress to increase the minimum wage. Here’s one idea Sanders is considering:
I wonder how many members of Congress would vote to raise the minimum wage if they were forced to live on $7.25 an hour for a year.

First of all, the obligatory “reality checks” that often must accompany Sanders’ ideas:
No one is forced to live on $7.25 an hour.
They are, however, forced to pay taxes on that $7.25 per hour… https://t.co/7romufBGkq— Michelle Ray (@GaltsGirl) February 22, 2017

The idea that opposition to minimum wage hikes comes from being discompassionate is populist nonsense. https://t.co/68xZLPZyZD

I wonder how many members of Congress would vote for #FullRepeal of #Obamacare if they were being ruined by skyrocketing premiums like me. https://t.co/QIqHA9p1mw

And you just knew Bernie’s tweet was going to awaken the elephant in the room:
I wonder how many senators would get real jobs if they were forced to live in apartments and not in THREE FREAKING HOUSES!! https://t.co/zpKfqhlYMk

Let's start with forcing them to live in only one glass house, first. https://t.co/H3OUXVjhN9

The solution is clear. For prosperity bordering paradise, give everybody, not just @SenSanders, a free $600,000 lake house. @chelseaclinton

Maybe Sanders didn’t think that one all the way through.
