According to Politico, the Biden administration is discussing closing the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan:
The BIDEN administration has discussed evacuating the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, possibly by the end of August, @politico reports, revealing that a new U.S. military assessment says the Afghan capital could fall to the Taliban in as quickly as a month. https://t.co/vKcORpPr6V

Until whenever that happens, however, the Kabul embassy will denounce the Taliban while they commit atrocities while retaking increasingly large areas of that country:
We’re hearing additional reports of #Taliban executions of surrendering Afghan troops. Deeply disturbing & could constitute war crimes.

“Could”?
Recommended
Escalating Taliban violence, including executions of surrendered Afghan troops, shows a lack of respect for #HumanRights. Don’t erase Afghanistan’s human rights gains of the last 20 years.

Then there’s the “strongly worded letter” strategy:
We strongly condemn the Taliban’s unlawful detention of several members of the Afghan government, including both civilian leaders and officers of the #ANDSF. We urge the immediate release of all Afghan government officials detained by the Taliban. pic.twitter.com/mDZtykGbcw

Senator Tom Cotton sees that approach as encapsulating this administration’s approach:
Hashtags against the Taliban sums up the Biden foreign policy. https://t.co/0QztroxQNB

It is a very Obama-esque strategy.
We hope Americans at the embassy and elsewhere stay safe.
