Elizabeth Warren’s campaign has unveiled yet another “plan,” and it might be a good idea to reach for your wallets and purses before they get snatched:
When faced with seemingly impossible challenges, American ingenuity has risen to meet them. We can do it again and defeat the climate crisis. The #GreenNewDeal is an opportunity to invest in a green economy and create 10.6 million new jobs. https://t.co/QLB6WueyUo

We’ve heard all that “green jobs” BS before from many Democrats over the course of many years, but in the name of fairness we’ll show all of Warren’s tweets before getting to the part that she left out:
I mean it when I say that defeating the climate crisis will be a top priority in my administration. My plans will enact a climate change agenda that not only reduces our carbon emissions, but also jumpstarts our economy and creates millions of new jobs.
— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) December 20, 2019
To develop the green workforce of the future, we'll invest in expanding job training, and we'll make sure no worker is left behind as we transition to a clean economy. My administration will work hand-in-hand with unions to ensure these jobs have good wages and strong benefits.
— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) December 20, 2019
The clean energy sector is rapidly expanding—and as part of my 100% Clean Energy Plan, my administration will focus on rebuilding and repowering our energy grid, creating 6.8 million good jobs, while cutting carbon pollution.
— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) December 20, 2019
Transportation is one of the largest sources of U.S. carbon pollution. As we rebuild our crumbling transportation infrastructure, we can create a transportation system powered by electricity rather than fossil fuels, build in climate resiliency, and create about 2.6 million jobs.
— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) December 20, 2019
America’s water infrastructure is crumbling, leaving us vulnerable to climate crises and putting our drinking water at risk. My administration will protect Americans by rebuilding our nation's water infrastructure—and creating about 190,000 good, union jobs.
— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) December 20, 2019
As part of my 100% Clean Energy Plan, I'll take action to achieve zero-carbon pollution from all new buildings, and improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings. This will create over 970,000 new jobs.
— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) December 20, 2019
The transition to clean energy is an opportunity to transform our economy, creating new industries and greatly expanding others. My administration will create new financing tools to unlock investments to tackle climate change, including a Green Bank and Green Victory Bonds.
— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) December 20, 2019
The #GreenNewDeal isn't just an agenda for reducing carbon emissions and defeating the climate crisis—it's an opportunity to transform our economy and create millions of good, new jobs. American ingenuity can rise to meet this challenge.
— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) December 20, 2019
And after all those tweets, what did Warren not find room to mention?
You guessed it! The price tag. There’s a good reason for that:
Elizabeth Warren unveils $10.7 TRILLION 'green new deal' to end all electricity generation by fossil fuels by 2035 https://t.co/gIDIiiEIXz
— Daily Mail US (@DailyMail) December 20, 2019
And of course numbers like that are so high they might as well just be reported as a “gazillion dollars.”
Create 10.6 million green jobs…lose 20 million other jobs in the process.
— Wes (@YesonWes) December 20, 2019
Green jobs?? How’s Solyndra doing?
— Andy D (@ADD164) December 20, 2019
Warren’s website refers to the massive spending proposal as a “$10.7 trillion investment,” of course.
Which equates to about $1 million per job. Wouldn’t it be easier to just subsidize nuclear power plants?!?!?!https://t.co/jplTGKNrRK

The green new deal is insanity. We are and oil and gas economy.
— Patriot Gail (@Gail_Garside) December 20, 2019
Just give me $1 million and I’ll reduce my carbon footprint by not driving to work everyday anymore https://t.co/EpU6XnM6YQ
— Eric Freed (@DrEricFreed) December 20, 2019
Soooooo destroy the job market that is energy, and spend ten trillion dollars on “clean energy” by 2030. If anyone believes you can do this they have lost all touch with reality. #bewarrened #talltalesfromgrandma
— Tom Collins (@BigTomCollins) December 20, 2019
A shockingly high number of people seem to think insane proposals like Warren’s are great ideas.
