NBC News political director Chuck Todd is highly troubled by things President Trump said this morning:
Today’s POTUS performance was breathtaking in the sheer number of provable falsehoods, intentional mischaracterizations and outright lies uttered. Clearly someone feels emboldened. Will GOP leaders continue to shrug this off? Bury their head in the sand?

Todd got some blowback for that.
I’m gonna say you always gave an emboldened pass to others why get self righteous now? https://t.co/IyVTxiUOi6

This is what journalism has become – rank punditry and activism with DNC talking points. #IfItsSunday… https://t.co/PoSjHFolZ7

There wasn't a smidgen of any of that. ? pic.twitter.com/reiFLXvOXk

However, fellow journos came to Todd’s defense and circled the wagons:
The truth is not a partisan position https://t.co/TeDZIuldJW

Sometimes the lying IS the news ?? https://t.co/CZQQCvBA7I

Sadly, probably yes…How else can you explain @SpeakerRyan not knowing anything about 15 separate Pruitt investigations? https://t.co/14juD7VAxN

I'm betting on putting their heads somewhere else. Seriously, the GOP enabling is more despicable than the Trump lying. He's one disturbed person. It is a collection of supposed political leaders who profess to have values and love for their country. https://t.co/tI4xzUifd3

The “Meet the Press” moderator has also had enough of “fake news” accusations being thrown the media’s way:
Sad to see so many intellectually dishonest folks who think pointing out incorrect facts and blatant misconceptions is evidence of bias. Amazing the disease that has stricken so many
— Chuck Todd (@chucktodd) June 15, 2018
Skepticism of the media is a “disease”? You might recall earlier this year that CNN’s Brian Stelter referred to Republican distrust of media as “an infection.” But Todd’s not going to pretend the MSM’s bad reputation isn’t unearned, is he? Perhaps so.

Sometimes media bias is most evident in what they don’t report, rather than what they do report.
