Senator Elizabeth Warren is working hard to rally the liberal troops for the coming midterms as well as the 2020 presidential election, and to do so she’s trying to make it sound like the country’s system is broken because of what happened in 2016:
.@SenWarren: "In 2016, nearly 3 million more people voted for @HillaryClinton than for @realDonaldTrump but Trump took the presidency. That is not exactly the sign of a healthy democracy. Democracy hangs on the idea that whoever gets the most votes wins." pic.twitter.com/Sd1jhtPZxI

Oh, really? Who wants to tell her?
We live in a constitutional republic, numbnuts. https://t.co/RH5YuIHuNV

This fool is a U.S. Senator??? And doesn't know how the President is elected?? https://t.co/qkACZUZ0vS

Wilful ignorance by @SenWarren:
1-America IS NOT a direct democracy.
2-Of 195 world nations, Only 10 use direct popular vote.

Nice try, senator, but it’s another FAIL.
Good thing America isn't a democracy https://t.co/ryanl6M9vj

The United States does not vote for President as a democracy. We are a Republic Ms. @SenWarren.

I guess constitutional republics weren’t taught at WigWam U. https://t.co/5Ac93HAQAo

You’re not willing to accept & understand the importance of the electoral college. Each state has an individual right to be heard and have their voice be counted. Populous cities have large voices, but they cannot and should not drown out the rest of the country.

– @BillClinton was elected with 43% of the vote in 1992 – five percent less that @realDonaldTrump received in 2016. I don't remember @HillaryClinton or @SenWarren questioning democracy in 1992. https://t.co/WM2P1vxirh

Liberals like Warren won’t question “democracy” when the Democrats win.
