Former Bill Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich said on CNN Thursday night that he’d heard “rumors” that those who were really at fault for the violent Berkeley riot were “right-wingers,” and Reich “wouldn’t bet against it.” Actress Debra Messing concurs:
Horrible. The protest was peaceful until the masked agitators came and attacked the peaceful protesters. I assume Alt- Right supporters https://t.co/P7iHZyLWFz

It’s worth pointing out that Messing’s comment is based on a tweet using a photo that doesn’t appear to have been taken in Berkeley, or even in the U.S.:
@crader_henry @comermd @AshleyJudd @DebraMessing That's not #UCBerkeley. It's Greece in 2009. https://t.co/KASGLlGS4f

@DebraMessing This is fake. It was originally taken in Greece during violent protests.

@DebraMessing The Flag on the man's jacket was added to blame anti-fascists. It says "Antifaschistische Aktion".https://t.co/cN5SRVaXpU

Now there’s an extra layer of “fake news”!
