The Obama administration has been insisting that a $400 million payment to Iran at the time four American hostages were being released was in no way a ransom, but was instead part of a separate deal.
Pastor Saeed Abedini was one of the people released by Iran, and he described not being allowed to depart the country until another plane arrived:

Will the mainstream media consider that a trivial detail not worth mentioning?
In NYT & on MSNBC this AM, no mention of hostage Saeed Abedini who said they couldn't depart Iran until another plane landed. #Omission bias

It’s a part of the story not helpful to the Obama administration spin, so chances are it could be deemed not worth mentioning:
@AriFleischer Well that would go against the narrative.

Bingo.
Yes, it was a ransom payment. To the world's leading state sponsor of terror…https://t.co/jktFJMghWo

OBAMA denies this ransom but I believe this Pastor! https://t.co/zc4yUb8Lpt

This proves the #400million to Iran was a ransom payment. The #LiberalMedia @CNN @MSNBC is denying/ not reporting! https://t.co/JnBe4HLP5n

Expect crickets from most of the MSM.
