In October of last year, Texas defunded Planned Parenthood clinics in the state.

Cosmopolitan, citing a study, appears to think the alleged effect of that defunding is a downside:

Oh noes! Isn’t the Left the side always claiming to be “for the children”? Not when it comes to Planned Parenthood defunding:

We’ll wait for an answer from the Left.

Just one more thing:

Yes, it would appear they know that:

  • almarquardt

They’re showing their true colors — and pink it ain’t.

What is the color of evil anyway?

    Maybe it is pink . . . ?

    • Hashtag pundit

I feel it must be. I hate pink.

      • almarquardt

I kinda like pink myself (because I look good in it) . . . Well, I used to anyway, before it was hijacked by PP and other so-called feminist groups.

        • Paul V

Sounds like gay, meaning happy and carefree that was hijacked to mean something totally unlike the true meaning.

    • san rafael blue

Some say the colour of evil is black, and that has nothing to do with black folks, who are actually beige, brown and mahogany. For the visual artist, black equals the absence of colour, the void of all that is beautiful, alluring and appealing. It’s cultural. Many Chinese say the colour of death is white.

      • DixieAngel_76

        Try and focus; PINK.

        • san rafael blue

Oh, so you’ve now been appointed as The Decider for us all, hey?
Funny, I was under the impression that each poster made that choice.
I like my way better. Thanks though,

    • Penny✓ItsSoFluffy!

In this case, that color would be blood red.

    • Orwellian_Dilemma

Maybe it’s green–for the billions PP makes trafficking in human organs.

      • genes ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵈᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ

        Soylent Green

    • interestedobserver2

It’s whatever color the head of PP is wearing today…

      • san rafael blue

Yellow is the color of my true love’s hair,
In the morning, when we rise
In the morning, when we rise
That’s the time, that’s the time, I love her best.

  • TooFarGone1 ✓NeverTrump

They’re echoing their pharoah–“More Texas women punished with babies.” Is Cosmo more afraid of American women and children than Syrian ones…?

    • Jesse B. Hammer

Very true, yet they’re also echoing what the Sierra Club did the other day in linking the tired old “overpopulation”-fear-mongering with the abortion-lobby (by way of the Sierra Club’s saying that the Zika virus is spread from countries that don’t allow birth-control.) I’ve never seen such baby-bashing.

      • DixieAngel_76

Or such mental gyrations to justify something evil.

  • Hashtag pundit

    Oh the horror!

  • Hashtag pundit

More Texans = more Texan house reps

And Malthusians are none too pleased either. They think there’s already about 7.5 billion too many people anyway.

    • DevilDocNowCiv

I propose voluntary euthanasia centers (as shown in “Soylent Green”) that the Malthusians can report to, to kick of their recommended big population reduction drive.

I also propose a fund drive to buy tickets to Carnival at Rio, as well as the Brazilian Olympics this year. Show us how its done, Malthusians. Leave the bug spray at home, and get you some Zika.

      • san rafael blue

The term Malthusians has not crossed my mind in years.
Population growth increases beyond the level society can sustain itself, unless there is intervention by wars, pestilence, crime and disease.

        • JV

make food out of all the ones who want population reduction

          soylent green anyone?

        • DixieAngel_76

God does not create people just to let them starve. Evil ‘leaders’ are responsible for that.

      • Penny✓ItsSoFluffy!

I fully support your proposal. 🙂

        • DevilDocNowCiv

Great! I have been seconded. Somebody bang the durnd gavel and say “passed,” and let Trump know, and CC Cruz.

For any in doubt as to who to send to and who to “CC,” ask yourself – is this too extreme for Trump? C’mon! Once he approves it, Cruz may.

    • bil_g

Don’t you hate that myth? If we put every human on Earth in Texas, every person would have roughly 1050 sq. ft. and everywhere else would be devoid of humans.

I’ve owned a house smaller than that. Rented apartments less than half that size.

      • Grumpy Granny

For a month I had four grandchildren and their parents living with me in a house only slightly bigger. We didn’t suffer great sufferings.

        • DixieAngel_76

          Bless you 😉

          • Grumpy Granny

I was blessed! It was the only time those grandchildren and i lived in the same state.

    • MarciaTheMurkyMuse? Variegated

Just ask the current occupant of the Throne of Peter, who thinks a billion is plenty. Buh-bye, everybody!

    • globalcrap

That would be too many O Bogus freeloading liberals.

  • vetgal1970

    Pregnancy is 100% avoidable

  • Mary Mommy Happy 2017!

Omg! Women are wanting to have babies and not get rid of them! How awful or something end of the world propaganda bad that only liberal can find reasons to complain about!

    • MoxieLouise1

OH NOES! Only five places in the state to get an abortion!!! WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!! GLOBAL WARMING TIMES ELEVENTY!!!!

    • Topcat69 the Deplorable

My son’s girlfriend is pregnant. They are both low level managers a Walmart, so getting by on one paycheck is a problem. What to do, what to do? Get married and have the kid, of course. Some lifestyle changes and sacrifices are in order. I am so grateful that the thought of having an abortion never crossed their minds.

      • Mary Mommy Happy 2017!

Congratulations to them and very much hope blessful good fortune. 🙂

      • Penny✓ItsSoFluffy!

God bless on the new grandbaby! Prayers for a healthy momma, a healthy baby, and a happy family. 🙂

      • Grumpy Granny

Blessings for all of you! I hope they live nearby. As my second son told me, “Grandparents are supposed to spoil their grandchildren.”

  • Penny✓ItsSoFluffy!

Cosmo is totes cool with baby organ harvesting. Birth and motherhood, not so much.

  • Dork Blaster

Freudian emoji slip or maybe their emperor Obama wrote the tweet – remember when he didn’t want his daughters to be “burdened” with children?

    • Kimberly Wedel

      Actually he called it punished.

      • Dork Blaster

Thanks for the correction! “Punished” is actually worse than “burdened”…

        • Kimberly Wedel

          I agree.

  • Tessa from Texas

Dear Cosmo, aren’t your readers intelligent enough to know how to use birth control — I know they don’t know enough to say “no” — but surely they know about birth control.

    • genes ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵈᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ

For a magazine that claims that making women sex objects is wrong, they yue a lot of sexy cover photos. They also seem to be more obsessed with sex than the typical Hustler reader.

      • Tessa from Texas

That is the complete history of Cosmo — the same articles being recycled ad infinitum. (hope I spelled that correctly)

  • globalcrap

Planned Murder -hood is the color of pink.

  • HiltonHead_Dude

I’ve known quite a few women in my life, and none of them ever went to planned parenthood for their healthcare.

And since we forced obamacare on everyone, why is planned parenthood even needed.

  • Sanchez

Cosmo exploits woman as much as the same women used to say Larry Flint did.

  • JV

they should be wearing swastikas and deaths head emblems on their uniforms

  • MoxieLouise1

PP, those numbers are deceptive. A good percentage of those babies were born of parents who aren’t citizens; this is, after all, a border state. And those people don’t cross the border to have an abortion, they cross the border to have a baby. So leave them out of the equation.

  • Grumpy

I blame Global Cooling, Warming, Whatever

  • Duane Savage

    Black Lives Matter!
    Defund Planned Parenthood!

  • Kimberly Wedel

I would say that their mask has slipped off but I am pretty sure that they ripped it off burned it and buried in salted earth a long time ago. Now the apathetic are starting to notice.

  • bunnehbooboo

Infantophobia. They really hate all the babies…wow..

  • malclave

Why should PP need government funding? If it’s really “women’s health”, then insurance should cover it. Haven’t they heard of Obamacare?

  • lCOYAR

Show each and every “pro-choicer” extremely detailed videos that have abortion procedures in them.

They will then understand that “choice” is NOT the opposite of “life”.

  • Dan Abbett

Well, as a man, “I stand to PP too” … oh.

    • Trudy Hill

  • The Deplorable Lord Whorfin

Oh no, Cosmo has the sadz?

  • Linda

I’m pretty sure some of those babies are also coming over the southern border of Texas

  • Girl who talks with her eyes
  • Girl who talks with her eyes
  • robert anthony

We’re told part of the reason illegal Mexicans are ‘good’ is because they are a revenue base for social programs….so, future generations are not?!?

  • Barry A. Brewer

Approach it practically with them and ask how many of those babies are future Cosmo subscribers

  • keyboard jockey

It doesn’t occur to any of the shrews at Cosmo that people want their children. And that’s not a bad thing we have been at zero replacement society since 2008.

  • yestradamous

Every single baby born here is one less slot for an illegal alien, demographically.

The US (and Europe especially) need more native born babies, big time, so we don’t have a demographic collapse. The entire reason Germany thinks it needs to import millions of migrants is to make up for it’s population not replacing itself. Cultural suicide.

I do think women have the right to be childless, but what have we done as a culture to discourage having families? Obviously something!

If the government were smart, which it isn’t so it will never happen, it should be encouraging more births of appropriately aged women, and still work hard to keep teen birth rates as low as possible, obviously.

One way to do this is let women’s birth control pills be over the counter. Teens can get them without the hurdle of a clinic visit. And if I’m going to get a bunch of crap about teens should be abstinent, yes, but that’s not reality.

We’ve been brain-washed that overpopulation is an earth-killing thing. Well, in the West, no, in the third-world that can’t feed them, yes.

The Western world needs more babies.

  • tverle

Perhaps if the good people at Cosmo believe so heavily in PP they could pony up the money themselves. After all, the clinics weren’t closed, just taken off the taxpayers dime. All those people that are so strongly behind all those ‘free mammograms’ should be sending in their donations to keep the good fight going. Amiright?
