Today, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul suspended his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination.

In 2013, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews advised everybody to bet the ranch otherwise:

What would we do without the self-proclaimed “experts”?

  • Penny✓ItsSoFluffy! #GoBolts!

    Shut up, Tingles.

    • Jesse-Messy Hammer

…In fairness to Tingles, when exactly did he say “the-nom’s-going-to-Rand-Paul”? Anyone could’ve made that prediction when Rand Paul started running.

      • Onyx

He said it three years ago. Moreover, he identified Rand Paul as the nominee because he predicted the “hard right” was going to take over the GOP in 2016…. which is, in fact, exactly what’s happening.

        • Jesse B. Hammer

Mm-Hmm…If the “hard right” (whatever that means) is taking over the GOP, it’s because the “hard LEFT” has brought this country to the brink. THAT’s where I don’t give Matthews credit: He’s in denial about what contempt O holds for his Constitutional limitation, hence Chris can’t figure out worth a [email protected] why Ted Cruz won in Iowa last week & what it means for the party.

      • lonestar

In 2000, he said McCain was going to be the nominee. In 2008, he said the world was sick and tired of the Clintons and their drama. Now in 2016, he thinks the Clintons are the best of the best.

        • soxfan4evah

It was only after electing and then reelecting Obama that America proved they were really worthy of the Clintons………

      • Knight64

Regardless of when he said it, he was wrong.
He does that a lot — be wrong. And like everything else he does, he does it arrogantly.

    • Knitwit

Actually, it’s STFU, Tingles. But, you were close enough fer gub’mint werk.

  • Tom

Quick! To the butt plug cave!

    • Jesse-Messy Hammer

That’s because Dave Matthews has at least shown (when getting things wrong) that HE DID IT.

    • Kevin Giltrud

      “I’m sorry, Dave…. I can’t do that.”

Quick, someone ask Tingles who he is picking to win the Super Bowl…………..I need to go place an extremely large bet against that team……….

    IOW the old UTIwtPPVO trick?

  • JosephBloughs ✓Viagrafied

I DON’T do this for a living, but let me just say the back breaker for me (and the base) isn’t Rand’s sometimes questionable positions (because he explains them intelligently and reasonable people can disagree, nobody agrees on everything). It’s his “Let’s Make A Deal” spectacle starring him and Mitch McConnell that made him untrustworthy, biggest gaffe of his political career if you ask me. Once he did that, I’ve had him at arms length since. Rubio occupies the same space for different reasons. In either case I so wanted to see both of them not go there, and they really disappointed.

And Chris Matthews: He’s a drunk, what morons listen to him?

  • old_grump

Doing something for a living doesn’t mean you’re competent. Just look at the government.

  • Fingolfin

“This is what I do for a living”. Huh, normally you’d expect that statement to be followed by a few tears and a stiff drink.

  • John Hitchcock

What Chrissy Matthews does for a living is prove VOX is not unusual in its abject failures from the Left.

  • Petrucio14

Ex is something that used to be. Spurt is a little drip of water. That’s about all you need to know about Chris Matthews and his status as an expert.

    • thale_taxurfeet ♂ Vilified

      A has-been drip under pressure…

Never trust a person who always has spittle on his bottom lip.

  • Acuda4me ✓Please!

Matthews should be on anti-drinking posters in High School nurses offices.

  • tamanator

His saliva made him do it!

  • Jerry Shelton

Well you can not be right 100PCT of the time.
However tinglely might want set a target of at least once.

  • Deplorable Member Berry

Good gravy. C’mon cirrhosis, you can work faster than that!

  • ernst

Yes, Chris Matthews does this for a living, and he consistently does it poorly.

He really does remind me of Agent Maxwell Smart!

    • TexSizzle

Not me. Agent 86 was amusing.
