Donald Trump is apparently making good on his promise to not participate in tonight’s GOP debate on Fox News. Trump didn’t ultimately blame his refusal to participate on his feud with Megyn Kelly, but rather on a “childishly written & taunting PR statement” put out by Fox News after Trump initially threatened to boycott the debate.

Trump continues to jab at Fox News today by retweeting this meme:

The person on the left really looks like she has Megyn Kelly’s eyes.

Snopes points out that “A Saudi prince owns a minority share of Twenty-First Century Fox, the parent corporation of Fox News, via an investment firm,” but is not a “co-owner” of Fox News, and Kelly never posed for a photo with him. Trump was reminded of that:

Not everybody objected:

Loving a politician is simply creepy. We’re electing a President and not a cult leader. As for people wanting him to lead, many people wanted Obama to win. They got what they wanted. Sadly, it was to the detriment of everyone.

  • CrazyDaze✓veridicous

Ann Coulter thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Of course the biggest thing wrong with Trump is the use of the words “I” and “me”.

    • Jill

Ann Coulter also said the same of Chris Christie and stated that the birther controversy with Cruz was silly in 2013. She’s as inconsistent as her latest political crush.

  • MTHarpooner

Yep, I got attacked the other day for making a stupid rhyme poking fun at Trump. One of the many things for which I dislike the current President is his thin skin. President Stompy Foot came by that moniker deservedly, and Trump seems to be cut from the same cloth. I really don’t want another narcisist to be President.

Be cool, Trumpbots. I’ll still vote for him if he’s the selection because the next President will likely select two Supreme Court justices, and I value my natural, civil and constitutionally-protected Second Amendment rights enough that I’ll vote for ANYONE who is not officially a Democrat. That said, a Cruz-Carson ticket would really tickle my evangelical Christian fancy.

    • Lamontyoubigdummy

I said on a thread weeks ago that I thought after next January 20 we would be done with all the petulance, narcissism, and “smart power”.

      Seems, maybe not.

    • aztectrumpet

Trump would likely appoint liberals anyways so what difference would it make?

      • MTHarpooner

Because we are GUARANTEED that Clinton or Sanders WOULD appoint another Kagan, Sotomayor or Ginsberg or worse! We don’t know who Trump would appoint, but odds are it won’t be someone who is as hostile to the Constitution as anyone that any of the Democrats would select. If Trump gets elected and totally sucks, we primary him in four years with an actual conservative. If Trump gets elected and doesn’t totally suck, I think we should still primary him with an actual conservative.

The point is we’re in a hole now. It’s time to stop digging. We have to take the shovels away from the Democrats at any cost, even if it means that we get Trump for President. He’s not a conservative. He’s not a decent Christian. But he’s STILL a better answer this time than Clinton. There is no comparison. No matter what happens we can’t elect another Democrat to anything for any reason.

No reasonable person can think that we’re going to solve all of America’s problems in four years. If Trump ends up the nominee, then you hold your nose and vote for him. We move the Overton Window a bit to the right and then have another election in four years where we can again try to get a constitutional conservative elected. We need to start playing the long game.

      • bxarmybrat

I have the impression that Kelly thinks her viewers are stupid. Last week she admonished a guest for making a reference to the TPP because the viewers wouldn’t know what that is. Just a couple of days ago she scolded a guest for using the word “soporific” because, I suppose, the viewers are too stupid to either know what it means, infer the meaning from context, or look it up. He changed it to “boring”.

I’m curious. When Obama took office it was a new and astonishing outrage everyday. Now Trump’s running, in the last several months it seems there’s been a controversy nearly as often.

So what I want to gauge, is there anybody who months ago could’ve or would’ve voted for Trump (whether or not he was your first choice), but in light of all this continued nonsense, just can’t do it anymore.

    • Kenton Clarkson

Yes and no. I was actually on board “maybe Trump” toward the beginning… Just to “let it all burn”. But I also check into Trump’s positions past & present.

      As for “but immigration”.

Elect him in 2020 to keep working with McConnell; Pelosi; etc making deals so he’ll hopefully one day give you what you want and not another crap sandwich… right?

  • IBXNJ

If Trump can’t take hard questions, does he really deserve my vote? ??

    • fragglerock61

      Absofreakinlutely not.

  • Greg Buls

You need to get outside of your bubble. There are millions of blue collar democrats who are sick of being called ‘racists’ by their own party because they want a front door on their home (a functional border). Millions of them haven’t voted for years, and they will be voting for Trump.

    • Petrucio14

Those blue-collar Democrats want a wall with a yuge golden door to let all of those illegal aliens right back in after being deported wholesale? If they do, they might vote Trump. Somehow I doubt it.

      • Greg Buls

They have to come in ‘legally’. He’s said it a thousand times.

Obviously you get the angst of blue collar workers. They’ve seen whole trades go over to illegals: meat packing, construction, carpentry.

Who do you think will protect their legitimate interests better? Trump, or Hillary, who says the border is already secure and there is no problem?

        • Petrucio14

His plan, which he has said a thousand times or more, is to deport them all and let them turn around and come back, ‘legally’. He doesn’t mean that they will undergo the rigorous path to citizenship that immigrants have had to endure for generations, it is a quick jump to the head of the line for cheap citizenship. Blue collar workers are not stupid and won’t go for that.

I don’t have any confidence at all that Hillary will protect national interests. I have very little confidence that Trump will since much of what he promises he cannot do legally. Thank God there are more candidates than these two losers.

          • Greg Buls

It’s not clear. He’s said that it is unfair to those following the legal procedures to grant these people citizenship straightaway. They may return legally as holders of work permits, but I don’t see him pushing 11-20 million people into full citizenship, ollo ahead of those following the law.

I suspect we will see many who won’t take advantage of anything, and just stay home once they self-deport after nationwide e-verify. If any are left alone to stay, perhaps they will have to provide tax returns first, and show that they haven’t used welfare. The left should like that, since they claim so many of them pay taxes and don’t use welfare.

Regardless how this shakes out, the border will be vastly more secure, so the problem won’t keep growing as fast.
I commend you for your concern about this issue.

          • Petrucio14

Your first sentence is what concerns me. I see Trump doing what Obama did when he was running for the first time. Broad generalities, then those who want to believe in the goals fill in the details the way they want them to be. Unfortunately that seems to be a winning political strategy. I won’t make the mistake of thinking that any politician will do what I think they should. I really want to believe that DT will do what is right, which is why I refuse to project my views on his broad canvas. I think the Mexican invasion is disastrous to our national sovereignty. It must be stopped and reversed. It is a major factor in how I will vote, and I hope one of them will explain in detail what they plan to do. So far none of them have to my satisfaction.

          • Greg Buls

I agree that he is following Obama’s formula to a large extent, however there are enough absolutes involved that something significant will happen with immigration. Trump will do almost anything to avoid being seen as a failure, since that would sap his power. And this is his signature issue, if he has one. Success in office, to him, will be conditioned by delivering on the ‘mandate’ he has established in some significant way.

          • Art

You say Trump can’t do it because he can’t do it legally? Are you kidding me, Obama has been doing illegal things for 7 years now and has been getting away with it because of his pen and phone.

          • Petrucio14

There is that, but I’d rather not replace one narcissist tyrant with another.

If he became president, would he sic the IRS and other gov’t agencies on those who disagreed with him (anyone remember the 1st Amendment?) as Obama did to conservatives? After all, Trump sounds like a spoiled child, threatening to sue…’I’m gonna tell my mommy on you’.
If he’s afraid of what he considers ‘hostile’ questions, how can he be president?
Look, I’m glad Trump has brought up immigrants, illegals, and Muslims (Islamists). However, he has connections in Dubai. And I wonder who he hires, in all his businesses. Does he use eVerify, or do his hotels, etc., hire a lot of illegals? Don’t know, just asking.

I don’t think republican candidates should be insulated from tough questions, but when democrats are insulated and republicans aren’t then we have what we have…..Republicans always looking like the mean party and the democrats always looking like the caring party.

Michelle Malkin has been tweeting about the youtubers who will be asking questions tonight. One of her tweets stated:

“Illegal alien & Muslim activist get key roles at FoxNewsGOP debate. Victims of illegal alien crime & jihad shut out,”

    Other tweets:

FoxNews debate questioner Dulce Candy was an illegal immigrant. I’m sure her q will be fair.”

“When open-borders media are in charge of debates, voters lose,”

    • fragglerock61

And what, you think that that sort of treatment will change in the general election? Wake up. If Trump can’t handle loaded questions now in the primaries he will get eaten alive when debating Clinton or Sanders.

      • kristy624

You mean like Romney got eaten alive?

        • fragglerock61

          What’s your point exactly?

        • kristy624

My point is, it doesn’t matter if we haev someone who can answer the tough questions, because the media will control the narrative. They turned Romney into a sexist for stating he had a “binder full of women.” The media claimed Romney was against birth control. Candy Crowley walked all over Romney. If you can’t change the narrative, you will lose.

      • Petrucio14

        Oh, none at all.

  • dabhidh

Every time I start to think I can maybe sorta tolerate Trump, he pulls some juvenile, third-rate shenanigans such as this.

  • wrestlefan01

im to the point where if someone put a gun to my head and told me i had to vote i would vote for hillary or bernie over this idiot

    • A-Train

If Cruz get’s it, or someone else other than Trump, I may hold my nose and go with them… If Trump, likely third party. I don’t care if that means ‘the Democrats win’… They win if Trump is elected anyway.

  • Factory_Hag

I just assumed that anyone seeing this would automatically see it as a lame joke on Trump’s part. Is there any evidence that he thought anyone would believe that picture?

    • Quality

Megyn Kelly is controlled by Saudi Arabians LOL

I guess it was also a joke when he posted a picture of racist picture displaying fake racial murder statistics.

    • rodlang

As Trump stated…he could stand on Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and his supporters would applaud. Yes, Trump thought his supporters would think this is real. He even mocks you guys and you don’t see it.

  • A-Train

I’m more ‘right-wing’ (classically liberal) and fiscally conservative than anyone I know… Trump is effing scary… He’s like Obama times ten, but nastier. I really don’t even like Cruz either. Shame Rand is trailing… Shows the true colors of the ‘right’/GOP. Most don’t give a darn about the Constitution.

  • https://twitter.com/HPLoveshaft H.P. Loveshaft

Snopes aren’t exactly unbiased. Notice they call the claim “mostly false” when it’s entirely false. The man owns an investment company that has less than 6% share of the company that owns Fox News.

See Snopes try to play it off as “he’s not really a co-owner”. How about “not remotely”?

  • https://twitter.com/HPLoveshaft H.P. Loveshaft

It’s not just the left, but the so-called conservatives who support Donald Gump.

  • Doc Farmer✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵈᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ

Ohhhhhh, sh!t… Just heard on Fox News Radio that El Trumpo called Megyn a “Bimbo” on Twitter/social media.

The forecast: Major sh!tstorms in the media for the next 12 hours, intense at times…

  • Tracksuit Al

Trump is jumping the shark now. He and his crazy fake conservative base don’t realize it yet though.

  • dcnj

    pfffffffft –

We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

  • TJG

You mean that “green screen glow” around the burkha clad woman’s head? Yeah, photoshopped, and not very well.

  • Petrucio14

Can’t he even hire somebody with decent Photoshop skills? What a maroon!

  • julietaube

ij don’t believe a man who runs such a childish campaign can be seen as a winner. he would rather send out adolescent tweets than talk in detail about the issues.

  • TJG

Umm, pretty much everyone who actually pays attention? This isn’t a secret, it’s been posted quite a bit for the last 15 years or so that Fox has been eating other news stations for lunch.

  • julietaube

meanwhile the real issues are not discussed. trump wins at making everyone dumber.

  • TJG

I had that exact same reaction. Thought for a minute that this was really good sarcasm, but kept reading posts, and realized he’s just nuts.

  • julietaube

if that is the case, fox is winning. trump is a chump to fall for it.

  • Petrucio14

He should ask Sarah Palin about Tina Fey. SNL ceaselessly mocked her for laughs, but a substantial number of LIVs took it seriously. I don’t think that is lost on the Trump.

  • Stephen

    Jesus Christ. Make it stop.

AAAAAND the conspiracy theorist oozes out of the woodwork. Take a little fact, blend in a substantial amount of paranoia, squeeze it out on the internet, and voila!

Psh, both kids have gone through 12 (well, one still is) and they’re both more mature than Trump is. His skin is so thin you can read a newspaper on the internet through it.

Good grief. And people actually think this clown is presidential material…

What a gutless juvenile coward. pick on someone your own size, you creep.!!!! You a President ? I shudder at the thought.!!!!!

To be fair, I’ve had numerous “debates” with libs on threads where they claimed the same thing.

    • Karla1953

I have as well………………the key word is Libs LOL……………..and the facts baffled them then as it seems they do the guy who wants to hold the highest office in the land.

  • Butch

1% stock owner…was 6% and sold off…and the Trumpers will believe anything the Donald Duck says.

  • UAWildcatx2

It seems like a lot of Trump supporters (not all, mind you) have the same mindset that rapid Obama supporters do: If he say it, it’s 100% true, facts be damned.

  • Gislef

“The issue is that who knew that a Saudi Prince has stock in Fox’s parent company.”

The picture doesn’t say that a Saudi Prince has stock in Fox’s parent company. It says that he’s a “co-owner.” So apparently the picture isn’t about “the issue,” either.

  • Kate

Trumpkins are incapable of stringing together a post without using ALL-CAPS, insulting someone, or declaring Trump “the only one” who can accomplish xyz.

    It’s embarrassing.

    • fragglerock61

And they have taken up the tactics of the Obamaphiles that “If you don’t like Trump you must be ______!”

And then they wonder why we question Trump’s conservative creds.

  • OldmanRick

Well, with that trashy photo Trump is absolutely digging in the dump. One would figure with his billions, his minions could have done a better job of trashing Fox and Megan.

  • Brent Fraser

The issue is that who knew that a Saudi Prince has stock in Fox’s parent company. Only Trump could of found out this kind of information.

I heard about it years ago, when it was actually true (before he dumped most of that stock). So not really.

  • Walter Sobchak

Considering the nasty shit Trump has said about the founder of this site, does that surprise you?

  • socalcon

Trump lives the business trope: Negative publicity can increase sales when a product or company is relatively unknown simply because it stimulates product awareness.

Although I’m not a Twitter-tweeter, I can safely say that RTing indicates the same thing as re/sharing a meme on Facebook: If it’s shared without an FB-caption stating otherwise (or RT’d without adding “BS”) then the sender has tacitly agreed with the meme. BUT if the sender merely thought it was funny…that’s still tacitly agreeing with the meme.
…BTW, Twitchy’s lucky Not to be fact-checked itself on yesterday’s article (coyly headlined) “Did Corey Lewandowsky really Threaten MK[?]”. Did the headline-writer READ FOX’s statement or WHAT? How on earth was THIS quote by Lewee (in Fox’s statement) NOT a threat? “In a call on Saturday with an FNC-exec (says Fox) Corey Lewandowsky stated that Megyn had a rough couple of nights after that last debate (and Corey-L) would hate to have her go through that again.” HEY TWITCHY, THAT’S CALLED A “VEILED THREAT” OF MORE cyberbullying by Trump if Fox doesn’t replace Megyn with his campaign-manager’s choice of moderator. Next stupid-question-disguised-as-a-headline, Twitchy?

  • bxarmybrat

Hillary Clinton wouldn’t go on Fox news anyway.

  • jrf30

Art, you are clueless. “I am sure it is not that small that when the Saudi Prince asks for something Fox will say no because you only have a minority share?” If you own 1,000 shares of IBM, through an investment firm (or a mutual fund), you are a minority owner. Do you think that would give you the rights to tell IBM how to run their business? Of course not. And that is more in line with how the Prince owns a minority share of Fox the company, not Fox the news. I wouldn’t be surprised if political entities own shares in LOTS of companies. It doesn’t give them the ability to do anything. ONly in your tin foil covered head.

  • I_Vote

Trump droolers gotta drool. Obama’s lowered the standards for POTUS to below the curb status, so an obnoxious huckster can manipulate and entertain the masses…. all the way to being leader of the free world.

  • Art

I was all for Trump at the beginning because I really liked what he said but now I don’t think I could really vote for him. Instead of facts 99% of his tweets are either how stupid someone is our how great his ratings are.
