President Obama has flown to Alaska to highlight the advance of climate change by pointing out that a lot of ice has melted over the course of summer. He’s also warned that the Arctic could be ice-free soon while at the same time calling for more icebreaking ships. On Earth Day, Obama fired up Air Force One to head to the Everglades in Florida to warn about climate change, and later burned over 20,000 gallons of fuel to fly to the Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas.
In other words, Obama is taking one for the team:
