The New York Times editorial board has denounced the “campaign of deception” against Planned Parenthood and the use of secretly recorded videos to expose the organization’s participation in the sale of harvested baby parts. However, when it comes to animal rights, undercover journalism can serve as a valuable tool:

The Times’ editorial in defense of undercover journalism on a family farm contained this sentence:
The law’s sponsor complained that the videos exposed the industry to “the court of public opinion,” as though that were a bad thing in a free-market society.
Unless the videos expose discussion about what goes on at Planned Parenthood.
