As a presidential candidate in 2008, Barack Obama made an extensive trip overseas where he met with world leaders and delivered speeches. Team Obama’s message about the trip at the time was that Obama was attempting to demonstrate his ability to “rehabilitate” America’s image around the world. Republicans said Obama was just trying to keep up with Sen. McCain’s advantage on foreign policy.
These days, Obama adviser Dan Pfeiffer says the trip still has residual effects on Republicans and provides even more evidence of Obama’s brilliance:
