The White House has for years been a laugh-a-minute when it came to defending their lousy record on transparency. Today, Press Secretary Josh Earnest added to the pile:
.@PressSec cites "Heisenberg principle" as the reason reporters excluded from covering Pres Obama's Q&A sessions with Dem donors.
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) October 22, 2014
The “Heisenberg Principle” must trump the “historic levels of transparency” pledge.
Heisenberg principle says the mere act of observing an event changes it. @presssec says reporters would change donor Q&A with POTUS.

Werner Karl Heisenberg was never a press secretary. He was a German theoretical physicist and a pioneer in quantum mechanics. Born in 1901.

Heisenberg won the1932 Nobel Prize in Physics for his neutron-proton model of the nucleus. He died in 1976 at age 74.

With that narrative set up, the White House can now accuse anybody questioning the Obama administration’s lack of promised transparency to be “anti-science” on the issue.
@markknoller @MajorCBS @PressSec I am Uncertain about that.

@markknoller @PressSec You know it's bad when they have stopped making up stuff and have start pulling asinine statements out of the air

@markknoller @PressSec Different Heisenberg inspired this principle, methinks.

Perhaps Earnest should take a page from Jay Carney and claim that he knows three people named Werner Heisenberg.
There’s video of Knoller’s exchange with Earnest at Real Clear Politics:
