During his statement on the situation in Iraq before leaving for Martha’s Vineyard, President Obama was asked if he regretted pulling the remaining U.S. troops from Iraq in 2011. An agitated Obama answered that it wasn’t his decision. In other words, “Bush’s fault”:
Obama says puzzled by second-guessing of pulling out Iraq troops: "As if this was my decision"

Obama campaigned on and eventually took credit for and celebrated the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, and now it wasn’t his decision?

If Obama was so upset about US troops coming out of Iraq, why did his WH celebrate the last boots coming off the ground? #rhetoricalquestion

FACT: President Obama kept his promise to end the war in Iraq. Romney called the decision to bring our troops home "tragic."

So was Obama lying then, or was he lying today?
David Limbaugh diagnoses Obama’s real problem with the question:
Why does it always seem that Obama’s main concern re Iraq is not ISIS, nor Iraqi bloodshed, but how he & his policies are being judged?
— David Limbaugh (@DavidLimbaugh) August 9, 2014
Oh well. When in doubt, “blame Bush!”
Barack Obama's full time job is blaming George Bush and campaigning for Democrats.
He's changed the job description of being President.— Mr T 2 (@GovtsTheProblem) August 9, 2014
Six years into his administration Obama stills blames Bush, this man will not own anything that is his responsibility.

shorter Obama: we were occupiers. Blame Bush, but even if I had negotiated a status of forces agreement, it would have been a mess anyway
