Yesterday, White House Obamacare flack Tara McGuinness blasted a House GOP report which found that only 67 percent of those enrolled in the federal insurance marketplace had paid their first month’s premium.
Is the White House correct in criticizing the accuracy of the House GOP report? Let’s find out…
Today, the Department of Health & Human Services released their latest Obamacare data. Here are some of the details:

New #Obamacare enrollment report notes that 28% of exchange plan enrollees are between the ages of 18-35–well below their goal of 40%

The White House report on #Obamacare enrollment doesn't say how many previously had insurance, or whether they are paying more.

So, what percentage of sign-ups have paid their premiums? Don’t hold your breath while waiting for an answer from HHS:
HHS says it does not have "comprehensive and accurate data" on # of those who paid — cites industry claims of 80-90% http://t.co/ShQuChIfIN

HHS will apparently resist the urge to disprove the House GOP report for the coming weeks and months:
White House says they’ll probably have data on how many people paid … eventually. “Later this year.”
— Brett LoGiurato (@BrettLoGiurato) May 1, 2014
HHS official says on conference call they won't know how many enrollees paid premiums "until later this year."
— John McCormack (@McCormackJohn) May 1, 2014
Possible translation of what “later this year” means:
@BrettLoGiurato prediction: mid-November.
— John Ekdahl (@JohnEkdahl) May 1, 2014
After Nov., right? [email protected]: HHS official says they won't know how many enrollees paid premiums "until later this year."
— Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) May 1, 2014
That wouldn’t be surprising in the least.
