“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson recently told GQ Magazine that in his opinion homosexuality is a sin. Gay rights activists were up in arms, and now A&E, which carries “Duck Dynasty,” has suspended Robertson:

This crap, Robertson's statement wasn't anti-gay, it was his personal opinion which he repeatedly stressed http://t.co/XI09W6xV3E

Katie Pavlich thinks the entire cast should take a break in response:
I hope every member of @DuckDynastyAE boycotts & refuses to film. This suspension is crap. The Robertson's don't need you AE, you need THEM

Reaction was swift. Here’s a sampling:
A&E suspends Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty. The Christian cleansing of American television continues…

@katiepavlich those often preaching tolerance are often the most intolerant when you see things differently.

People are wanting A&E to cancel Duck Dynasty because Phil Robertson called homosexuality a sin. Freedom of speech is no longer a thing.

People who do watch "Duck Dynasty" will be more inclined to punish A&E for this move. Knee-jerkery rarely ends well.

This Duck Dynasty silliness from @AETV just solidifies my decision to dump cable. #TeamPhil

All the CRAP we have on TV and in the news today and Phil Robertson is suspended by A&E for stating something he firmly believes in. Unreal

A Christian guy said something that aligns with his faith. EVERYBODY FREAK OUT.

I guess diversity at @AETV only goes one way. As long as Phil is gone, so are we.

Seriously, news flash. A&E isn't leading the vanguard of the culture wars. They're going where everyone other media company is.

How A&E could make it up to some of those who were angered by Robertson’s opinion:
Maybe 'Duck Dynasty' can make amends by inviting the #PajamaBoy to appear on the show
