Hard to believe, we know, but that’s reported to be the case.
For some reason one of the chosen methods of self-gratification among a portion of the liberal media is to fantasize about Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity being yanked off the air for crimes against humanity but mostly offending the Left.
Last month, there were reports that Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity might not renew with Cumulus Media. Naturally, Media Matters’ Eric Boehlert quickly turned that into “Cumulus dumping Limbaugh and Hannity because of advertiser backlash.”
Now, at least as far as Hannity is concerned, the full story starts to emerge:
So @MMFA's "Rush and Hannity being booted off Cumulus because RACISTS / SEXISTS" was actually "Cumulus negotiating with Rush and Hannity."

That’s how these things usually go, and it sounds like it’s no different this time around.
The facts: Hannity dropped Cumulus, not the other way around: http://t.co/Yrcn9Yp4Ra

It’s called “negotiation.”
The Sean Hannity / Cumulus news is just another example of the alternate reality the folks at @MMFA live in.

Still living there:
Sean Hannity is having a really bad August;

“It can’t be true, because I already said it’s not!”

It wouldn’t be as pitiful if at least once in a while there was an admission that negotiations in these kinds of matters are two-sided and Hannity (and Limbaugh) would have other options in those markets:
Premiere, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Sunday night, is expected to carry Limbaugh and Hannity on stations in many of the markets where they are currently signed with Cumulus, should the negotiations not go through. A spokesperson for Limbaugh was not immediately available for comment; Hannity did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Obviously some on the Left will keep clicking their heels together three times while saying “there’s no place like a Limbaugh, Hannity and Fox News free world” until their dreams become reality. Until then, denial and disingenuousness will have to do.
