Back in 2016, Donald Trump ranked at number 16 out of the 17 Republican presidential hopefuls for me. I didn't think he was a serious candidate. I was wrong — Trump turned out to be a great president and shook up the swamp. Inflation was low, the border was under control, and there weren't any wars raging. I often think about what Trump could have accomplished had he not been hobbled by a hostile media and years of investigation into non-existent Russian collusion.
We've shown you a lot of people who have melted down over Trump's electoral victory. He's an authoritarian; a fascist; a dictator. Actually, he's none of those things. Anyone not inflicted with TDS can see that Trump is just a normal man — he's not the harbinger of the end of democracy. He'll serve his term and then move on.
The New York Times has printed plenty of "analysis" as opposed to news, and their latest analysis says that "America stands on the precipice of an authoritarian style of governance never before seen in its 248-year history." Seriously, what sort of analysis is that? It's hysteria.
We have presidents who owned slaves, defended slavery, committed ethnic cleansing, sent Japanese Americans to concentration camps, and tortured human beings, but Trump has an "authoritarian style of governance never before seen in its 248-year history." pic.twitter.com/240BMnSyLz

"America Hires a Strongman." Maybe America was looking for some toxic masculinity to balance out Tim Walz' "healthy masculinity" and Doug Emhoff's status as a "progressive sex symbol." Misogyny? No … conservatives would happily vote for a woman — just not this woman, who was remarkably unpopular and unaccomplished.
But really — never before seen in America's 248-year history? Calm down.
They seriously cannot seem to learn their lesson. It's fucking wild.

TDS is real.
The ahistorical hysteria is so tiresome, but will not end.

Hyperbole is the real pandemic.

We just experienced 4 years of the most authoritarian President in my lifetime.

He bragged about defying the Supreme Court.
They’re never going to learn apparently

The editor said: Give me MORE hyperbole!

They can’t seem to understand how hysterical that sounds. Same people don’t listen to hysterical people.

As I said, I like to imagine what Trump's first term could have been like with an impartial press, but all signs point to the mainstream media going even further overboard in his second term.
