Here’s a thread in two parts from Daily Beast media reporter Justin Baragona, who wants so badly to be Aaron Rupar but just isn’t there yet.
Let's check in on Fox News' 5 pm hour — which is consistently one of the network's most-watched programs. pic.twitter.com/szbAawLUZG

This, of course, provoked plenty of tweets from deeply offended people who thought Fox News was inciting violence, etc. For example, take this deeply considered opinion from Brian Klaas:
I've lived in several authoritarian regimes and this is more blatant and over-the-top than many of the state media propaganda networks in those countries. https://t.co/jKocqR2C3k

😎🤔😷 Fox's incessant insurrectionary incitement of the public deserves a revocation of its broadcasting license!

It’s a joke.
And the thing is, Baragona knows it’s a joke — he says so in his next tweet, and even includes the video of everyone laughing. His first tweet has 180 retweets compared to the second’s 13. Funny how that works.
The Five's liberal pundit Jessica Tarlov tried to throw Greg Gutfeld's joke back in his face.
"I feel like the producers like you more than me… none of the above, obviously. E). New invention to your game." pic.twitter.com/oU6GrGrR7z

News flash: Greg Gutfeld made a joke on “The Five”!

It also tops the ratings by a wide, wide margin.
The media can’t even understand when they’re being mocked in an obvious joke.
I am crying 😂💀 https://t.co/p8wN03XAfa

Fox will never losing the ratings war as long as they keep living rent-free in the heads of "media reporters" like this. https://t.co/0WpqMQXoKy

Why would they make jokes on television? I don't understand this. https://t.co/yT3ec2EQq5

Who’s gonna tell this guy @DanaPerino @greggutfeld @JessicaTarlov is a political comedy show which is why it’s always number 1? It’s funny https://t.co/W6eSTPUzSy

@greggutfeld was literally parodying pundits like you and it went right over your head just like everything else. I mean how do you people fall for this crap every single time?🤣 https://t.co/xmfuBMvzwJ
