Prediction: Gov. Ron DeSantis will send CPS after any parent who participates in Drag Queen Story Hour

Andrew Sullivan has been all over the map when it comes to “family-friendly” drag shows and Drag Queen Story Hour. This week, he noted that “racy, stripper adult drag queens have no place around kids,” but “fun, costumed non-blue drag queens reading to kids is fine.” Can we just make that simple distinction?

We still wonder, though, why men dressed as hypersexualized women have to be the ones reading to kids. Because it’s “fun”?

Sullivan has a further prediction: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will not only defund Drag Queen Story Hour — he’ll also send Child Protective Services after any parent who brings their child to such an event.

Why would the state be funding Drag Queen Story Hour? Public schools are paying these drag queens to come and perform? Couldn’t the teacher read to the students instead?

That’s such a good question that no one seems to be able to answer. To teach first graders about gender fluidity and family structures?

That’s a pretty stupid prediction, though we’re perfectly fine with the first half. Make it so!
