As Twitchy reported earlier, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott reported today that Texas on Sunday had reported zero deaths from COVID-19 and the fewest COVID cases in 13 months, despite his and other governors’ “Neanderthal thinking” that led them to end mask mandates. When Abbott did end the mask mandate and declared Texas open for business, Gov. Gavin Newsom called it “absolutely reckless,” and Beto O’Rourke told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace that Abbott was leading “a cult of death … You have folks literally upending civilization as we know it.”
The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin wrote a column about it, asking why we were “bailing out” Texas and arguing that we should prioritize states that were acting responsibly. Abbott was clearly going to kill more people.

Sorry no one in Texas is dying. You must be quite upset that you were, once again, wrong.

11 weeks later and the Texas stats are better than ever. COVID is not problem.

When the loathsome Jennifer Rubin made this declaration, it was obvious that COVID was over in Texas.

Its been two months, Jennifer, has everyone in Texas died yet?

How do you still have a job when you're always wrong?
— Rich Kroeter (@rkroeter) May 17, 2021
Have you apologized for this yet? Or do you just expect people to believe you have even a sliver of credibility or integrity left after making wildly disgusting accusations like this that turn out completely wrong over and over?
— Eric Kimmel (@ekimmel11) May 17, 2021
11 weeks later and you’re still a hack.

Brian Stelter turned his obsession with Fox News and Trump into a book; somebody should compile all of Rubin’s old tweets and publish those for a laugh.
