MSNBC law analyst Benjamin Wittes, probably best known on Twitter for his “BOOM!” tweets accompanied by a video of his tiny cannon shooting off a round whenever there was a new “bombshell” in the Russian collusion investigation, has a question. Why didn’t the same people who support the dropping of the case against Michael Flynn “howl with rage” when then-FBI director James Comey reopened the Hillary Clinton email investigation after it had already been closed?
Riddle me this: why is it that the folks who are so concerned that the Bureau conducted the Flynn interview after preparing but not finalizing an internal closing memo didn’t howl with rage when the FBI reopened the Clinton email investigation after publicly closing the matter?

but that's different. she was a criminal, right?
— Joe Lockhart (@joelockhart) May 9, 2020
Correction: She is a criminal.
Because her emails turned up on the laptop of an online sex offender?
And previously our nation's most highly classified information was found in her emails?
— InMyHumbleOpinion (@IMHO1969) May 9, 2020
The Weiner laptop was signifigant. The Kislyak call was not.
— Ombudsman4Truth (@ombudsman4truth) May 9, 2020
You know the answer. The Weiner Laptop.
— jonnybluejeans⭐⭐⭐ (@aluminumnatti) May 9, 2020
Because they discovered more as of then unknown emails on pedophile Anthony Weiner's laptop that needed to be examined?
Like this wasn't even a good comparison.
— Shane Rider ?? (@shaneriderMA) May 9, 2020
Well, perhaps the Hillary investigation reopened after hundreds of thousands of HRC emails were found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop and the New York field office was going insane at HQ’s attempt to just wish it all away.
— JimBobLAX (@JimBobLAX) May 9, 2020
Because 1) Comey testified before Congress that he would reopen it.
2) Hillary is a criminal— Dan "the Man" McGoogle (@NorthForkOeno) May 9, 2020
B/c McCabe hid the NY Weiner emails for a month … #obstruction
B/c the FBI “read” all 600k emails in 4 days. They probably bleach bit the relevant ones anyways.
— RIZZAU (@rizzau) May 9, 2020
The FBI only reopened the Clinton investigation because the NY FBI office and NYPD were going to leak that the FBI mothership in DC was dragging their feet on the warrant to look at Clinton's emails on Weiner's laptop. Nice try.

Not because new evidence came to light is it?
— desertfox (@TopGunArms) May 9, 2020
Here’s a clue:
She was using a private unsecured server to do govt business that had highly classified info while she was hiding it from proper scrutiny.
— AquaStar (@AquaStar4) May 9, 2020
Because she actually committed crimes.
— Carla Burlando (@CarlaBurlando) May 9, 2020
Didn't Comey tell Congress during a hearing in 2016 that he would alert them if they found more emails? Obviously, they didn't "close the matter" with a lock and key.
— *My*World* (@Dbax1fan) May 9, 2020
New evidence.
— Billie Eilish (@GrandmaM0ses) May 9, 2020
New information came up in the Clinton investigation. Flynn's case should've never been started
— Haus (@HausSante) May 9, 2020
Because they found new evidence? ?

Amazing corncobbery here by Benjamin.

Stroking your little cannon again, Benny?
— FiddlerOnDRoof (@FiddlerReturns) May 9, 2020
Riddle me this: why are you a shill for government abuse?
— jb clamence (@clamence) May 9, 2020
Reminder – Wittes is pals with all these clowns
— Banquo Dyar (@BanquoDyar) May 9, 2020
Because the same bad guys that set up General Flynn are the same ones that covered up for Hillary. It's not complicated.
— Monika (@MonikaMusing) May 9, 2020
Because in both cases the FBI was suppressing evidence to advance a Democratic agenda. The FBI has been incredibly consistent.
— Quoll (@Goose94934219) May 9, 2020
It’s not such a difficult question to answer.
