There’s something in the water in California that enables legislators to envision taxes that would never cross the minds of other Americans. How about a tax on … text messages? People send a lot of text messages, right? Let’s tax those!
California wants to Tax us 45 million a year to give illegals cell phones.

That’s Omar Navarro, a Republican candidate for Congress who challenged Rep. Maxine Waters in 2018. We’re not sure if the tax would go toward giving illegals cell phones, but KTRK-TV is reporting that “state regulators say the money would be used to support programs that provide phone service to the poor.”
How much will it cost per text message? No one seems to know, but wireless carriers and industry groups say it could cost citizens an extra $44 million a year and be an extension of already established programs that help fund programs for low-income individuals and families.
Californians will tax themselves into oblivion. The populace continue to elect a far left state government so this is what they get. Should be fun to see how the tax on texts goes over.

They must think this is reasonable since they voted for Maxine

Hell no… I can barely afford my own phone

I already get taxed $12 a month in fed, state and city taxes for one phone on second to lowest priced plan offered by AT&T wireless. Tax thieves! Why are non-citizens receiving welfare meant for American citizens? Isn’t this illegal?

California nice place to visit, but don't want to live there…..

I'm so glad I don't live in California. It may be beautiful, but it's not worth it. I find plenty to be grateful here in the Midwest.

Oh, they have other taxes in mind as well.

When California falls off the proverbial fiscal cliff and Trump denies federal funds to pay for the sins of Sacramento, then California will learn. They won't have any Republicans to blame.

Time to put on a #yellowvest California.

California should just secede from the union so it can become the communist utopia it longs to be without any federal government interference. Then the rest of us would no longer be forced to deal with their moron politicians and electoral votes.
