As Twitchy reported, House and Senate Republicans on Tuesday night “mocked” African-Americans by applauding when President Trump claimed in his State of the Union address that black unemployment numbers were at an all-time low.
That claim caught the ear of the explainers at Vox, who decided to run that claim through a fact-check.
Trump: African-American unemployment stands at the lowest rate ever recorded.
Fact-check: The black unemployment rate started dropping around 2011 — long before Trump took office. https://t.co/c1MyHdQpM9 #SOTU pic.twitter.com/LK2ZFLrQH6

So glad to have that claim fact-checked. Now fact-check why Democrats couldn’t be bothered to applaud good economic news.

Is that another way of saying “true”? https://t.co/OaKtfNaGsG

So what you mean to say in the Fact-check: Yes, this is correct. https://t.co/P3xstT3olJ

That’s context, not a fact check. https://t.co/KFCjhUwiQk

Wouldn't this be more like a "context check?" Because it seems otherwise that the answer is simply, "true." https://t.co/KyyrL7hVzO

This fact-check does not dispute the fact asserted but merely indicates Vox wishes the fact were not true. https://t.co/lIv0o8ZwwN

The statement wasn’t whether or not it had been dropping @voxdotcom, it was if the current data point is the lowest ever recorded, which it is. Therefore you look like idiots for failing to comprehend the statement made by @POTUS and the blatantly clear bias you have against him. https://t.co/PaelcEfdIk

If youre Vox, even when Trump tells the truth you cant say so. The art of the bogus factcheck. https://t.co/0AGZE7oCFg
