Special Counsel Robert Mueller was appointed — at least we thought — to look into allegations that the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia and Vladimir Putin to swing the election and rob Hillary Clinton of her coronation.

Now it’s unclear exactly what Mueller is up to, but we’re not seeing much progress when it comes to proving collusion. A new report from NBC News’ Meet the Press suggests that Mueller’s team is now looking into Michael Flynn and “what happened between Jan. 26 and Flynn’s firing on Feb. 13.”

NBC News reports:

The questions about what happened between Jan. 26 and Flynn’s firing on Feb. 13 appear to relate to possible obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump, say two people familiar with Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling and potential collusion with the Trump campaign.

That’s not only after the election but after Trump’s inauguration as well … so what’s up?

In the meantime, The Resistance has looked toward Mueller for the last year like he’s Santa Claus. Maybe if they don’t quite get what they asked for (proof that Russia helped Trump steal the election), they’ll get something else in their stockings if they wish really hard.
