Special Counsel Robert Mueller was appointed — at least we thought — to look into allegations that the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia and Vladimir Putin to swing the election and rob Hillary Clinton of her coronation.
Now it’s unclear exactly what Mueller is up to, but we’re not seeing much progress when it comes to proving collusion. A new report from NBC News’ Meet the Press suggests that Mueller’s team is now looking into Michael Flynn and “what happened between Jan. 26 and Flynn’s firing on Feb. 13.”
EXCLUSIVE: Special counsel Robert Mueller is trying to piece together what happened inside the White House over a critical 18-day period that began when senior officials were told that Michael Flynn was susceptible to blackmail by Russia https://t.co/1bg9zqiiOD pic.twitter.com/0cm9wnouOA

NBC News reports:
The questions about what happened between Jan. 26 and Flynn’s firing on Feb. 13 appear to relate to possible obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump, say two people familiar with Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling and potential collusion with the Trump campaign.
That’s not only after the election but after Trump’s inauguration as well … so what’s up?
The original ambit of Mueller's authority was to investigate Russia's involvement with the election and the campaigns.
The warrant for the Manafort raid reached back 11 years. Now we find he's looking at events after inauguration. https://t.co/SmxKYqETRX

Is that what Mueller is truly focusing on? Is he investigating Trump and Flynn during their first 18 days? If so, he's wasting time and money — on a partisan witch hunt. He should be investigating this instead: https://t.co/3mBaku5x4i https://t.co/lUF1ObKqFH

Why is that the focus? I thought their job was to investigate possible Russian meddling during the campaign? https://t.co/DB0g8TBcjk

Um… Isn't he supposed to be investigating Russia collusion to steal the election? https://t.co/Grx9RO5f8Q

What happened to his collusion fantasy? https://t.co/WoE9OwTNAe

How quickly RUSSIA COLLUSION! turns into "stretch after election." https://t.co/Dx3FsLDuTY

So a special counsel for the next 7+ years? Uh, their scope was Russia collusion. Ridiculous.

Sounds like there needs to be an investigation into the investigation.

Don't care. Mueller has no credibility in my eyes. https://t.co/YYu6Lu7mWW

In the meantime, The Resistance has looked toward Mueller for the last year like he’s Santa Claus. Maybe if they don’t quite get what they asked for (proof that Russia helped Trump steal the election), they’ll get something else in their stockings if they wish really hard.
