Sen. Kamala Harris seems to be getting an early start on her 2020 presidential campaign. From her tweets, it would be tempting to assume she’s not that bright, but as former Attorney General of California, she must know more about the law and the Constitution than she lets on.
She’s at the point in her campaign where broad, sweeping promises and platitudes are more than enough: for example, health care isn’t just a right, it’s a civil right. Women should be heard and believed, even at the expense of due process. It’s irresponsible to suggest that DREAMers here illegally are anything but lawful. Medicare for all!
What’s next on the list of injustices to check off? How about bail?
It is a serious injustice that for the same offense, someone who can pay bail gets out, but someone who can’t pay sits behind bars.
