Late-night host Jimmy Fallon has been put on notice that he’s not allowed to poke fun at the president after he dared “humanize” Donald Trump last fall by having him as a guest and playfully messing up his hair.
Stephen Colbert must have taken that lesson to heart and on Tuesday he colleague Jon Stewart act as a Trump stand-in, complete with a nasty looking critter strapped to his head to dissuade any impulse to let his fingers go wandering into trouble.

@TheWrap how brave and controversial
— Ken Snyder (@KenSnyder4) February 1, 2017
And that is what separates a comic genius like Stewart from wannabes like Fallon and Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep.
@TheWrap Oh for chrissake. Not even fucking trying anymore.

@TheWrap Sounds like a fresh take. Gosh.

@TheWrap that's the best he can do? I voted for @realDonaldTrump and I can come up with funnier jokes than that.
— Roman (@RomanDad) February 1, 2017
@TheWrap this is what you get when you don't have your 12 joke writers with you.
— Jimni27 (@jimni27) February 1, 2017
@TheWrap so Jon Stewart is essentially Rip Taylor, once his writers aren't around?
— Darth Kwazaborski (@DarthBSnarkin) February 1, 2017
@TheWrap this is what counts as humor these days? Next thing you know they'll be throwing pies and shooting seltzer at each other.
— DLove (@thdarius) February 1, 2017
@TheWrap I thought I remembered him being funny. Did I dream it?
— Nobody Important (@Sean_EQ) February 1, 2017
@TheWrap Yeah this pic is making Trump look real stupid…lol
— InvidiousDistinction (@InvidiousDist) February 1, 2017
@TheWrap yep, that will CHANGE how Trump supporters feel about him! LOL

If only he’d let loose like this before the election, President Clinton would be nominating a Supreme Court justice.
"What happened to Jon Stewart?"
"He's making Trump look dumb."
"By putting a dead rat on his OWN head?"
"Uhhh…I guess." pic.twitter.com/r9ZcYaGNeW

Not funny? Did you happen to miss the really, really long red tie? It was really long.
