The New York Times has been having a bit of a crisis lately as it tries to embrace the world of new media. The paper has been trying to liven up its online offerings with Facebook Live video, but even the Times’ public editor mostly dislikes the product so far.

Liz Spayd wrote on Sunday that many live videos “are simply boring, by I imagine most anyone’s standards.” That all ended today, though, when CNN invited followers on social media to tune in to a live stream of vice presidential nominee Mike Pence getting a haircut in Norristown, Penn.

But … maybe you don’t understand. This isn’t a YouTube video of Mike Pence getting a haircut; this is a LIVE VIDEO STREAM of Mike Pence getting a haircut.
