The Associated Press reports that Christopher Lee Cornell, 22, was arrested in January 2015 by FBI agents in the parking lot of a gun shop outside Cincinnati, Ohio, where he had just purchased two M-15 semi-automatic rifles and 600 rounds of ammunition. His defense attorney said Monday that a “very fragile” Cornell had matured significantly since his arrest, dropped his adopted name of Raheel Mahrus Ubaydah, and trimmed his beard.
