As Twitchy reported, Donald Trump met with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst over the long Independence Day weekend, and although Ernst made no mention of any vice presidential talk during their “good conversation,” she made it clear Wednesday that she won’t be sharing a ticket with Trump in 2016.

That does leave Pence as a possibility, but during his rally Wednesday night in Cincinnati, Ohio, Trump sure did spend a lot of time talking up guest Newt Gingrich — not that he’s saying it’s Newt.

On the plus side, a lot of today’s voters are too young to remember when Gingrich did those horrible ads with Rep. Nancy Pelosi, sponsored by Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection, promising to work together across party lines to fight the “climate crisis.”
