After deleting his first attempt due to a typo, RNC chair Reince Priebus tweeted Tuesday night that, with the suspension of the Cruz campaign, Donald Trump would be the presumptive Republican nominee.
.@realDonaldTrump will be presumptive @GOP nominee, we all need to unite and focus on defeating @HillaryClinton #NeverClinton
— Reince Priebus (@Reince) May 4, 2016
@Reince @realDonaldTrump @GOP @HillaryClinton you're the worst chairman the republican party has ever had.

@Reince @realDonaldTrump You're finished, Priebus. #NeverTrump and never another nickel to the @GOP. Enjoy Cleveland, assholes.

@Reince you've presided over the death of your party. Great job. GREAT job.

@Reince @realDonaldTrump @GOP don't tell me what I "need" to do. You cowered and didn't say, "he's not a Republican." He doesn't get my vote

@Reince @realDonaldTrump @GOP do it without me…my wallet is closed sorry I won't vote for this candidate
— LDBurke (@Ironladyfan) May 4, 2016
Sorry @Reince. As of now I'm officially disassociating with the @GOP. I will not support @realDonaldTrump or anyone who does.

On the surface it looked like nothing more than a (not so successful) call for party unity, but plenty read it as a loud-and-clear message to the candidate who didn’t suspend his campaign Tuesday. John Kasich campaign strategist John Weaver received the message and marked it “return to sender.”
Appreciate @Reince & his hard work for @GOP, but until someone has 1,237 bound delegates there is no presumptive nominee. CA here we come.
