If there’s anything more absurd than Donald Trump citing the National Enquirer’s report that Rafael Cruz was somehow connected to Lee Harvey Oswald and the Kennedy assassination, it’s PolitiFact’s decision to examine the claim seriously.
We ran the alleged image of Rafael Cruz through a facial recognition program. No match! https://t.co/UOx2FUDgu7 pic.twitter.com/2PIQQ3ztE3

As long as we’re taking conspiracy theories seriously, check out the timestamp on PolitiFact’s tweet, showing that it was posted after the first polls had closed in Indiana. Who knows how many votes could have been salvaged if this important information had been brought to light even a few hours earlier.
@PolitiFact pants on fire? He still could have been involved….. 🙂

Good point. Imagine if he’d managed to get his hands on the country’s nuclear codes.
@PolitiFact @Gabbiedrice78K somebody tell Trump and the National Enquirer. ?. How low can we go?
