Obviously he was joking, but Rep. Rick Larsen on Monday night managed to show the lengths to which Democrats have adopted the Obama administration’s “do your job” strategy to shame Republican senators into confirming the president’s Supreme Court nominee.

For what it’s worth, the president has been using “do your job” to shame Congress into confirming his SCOTUS nominee since February, which might suggest to the White House and the Democrats that their #DoYourJob hashtag strategy either isn’t working, or is moving along about as quickly as Obama’s January 2009 promise to close Guantanamo Bay.

If we’re offended at anything, it’s less the idea that God is taking sides with the Democrats on SCOTUS nominees and more the notion that ABC7’s three-second video is “insane.” Has anyone at the station actually seen lightning before?
