Social justice warriors flooded Twitter with the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag in January when the Academy announced an all-white slate of nominees in the acting categories. Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett Smith have both said they’d be boycotting the Oscars this year, but what course of action did the lowly moviegoer have available?
Not surprisingly, the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network is urging viewers to #TuneOutOscars this year and has set up a network of protest sites, including one in Hollywood, where Sharpton will lead a rally for diversity, inclusion, and justice in the movie industry.

The event hasn’t quite gone viral yet on Twitter, but if you don’t have plans for Oscar night, this might be the ticket.
