Once #BlackLivesMatter leader (and newly minted Baltimore mayoral candidate) DeRay Mckesson and his team met with Sen. Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton knew she had to get in on the action and accepted an invitation to meet and discuss the details of her criminal justice platform.

This was last September, and it was clear even then that Sanders owned the issue of criminal justice reform, while Clinton was saddled with her husband’s legacy of getting tough on crime and putting 100,000 more cops on the street. McKesson says he told Clinton not to take the black vote for granted.

Speaking of endorsements, Clinton managed to pick up the support of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC.
