Donald Trump fans quickly organized a #BoycottKellyFile movement following the first Republican debate, but as Politico’s Alex Weprin reports today, Megyn Kelly doesn’t seem to be hurting for viewers.

Initial ratings show that last night’s “Kelly File” managed to outdraw CNN’s live Democratic Town Hall special, featuring moderator Anderson Cooper and the two remaining Democratic candidates, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, between 9 and 10 p.m.

Oh, and one other caveat that suggests either a disinterest in the race or early-onset voter fatigue …

  • Orwellian_Dilemma

Yeah, couldn’t really break myself away from re-runs of “That 70’s Show” to watch a couple of septuagenarians argue about who can turn back the clock 40 years on our economy and foreign policy.

Wait, it’s like I skipped “That 70’s Show” to watch “That 70’s Show.” How meta of me.

Yep, my show is popular on the teevee.

So’s mine. The Smurfs. I was hairy Smurf and had hair of beautiful flowing Brad Pitt hair.

  • spankovision

Sorry, what was that? I was watching the Fonz jumping the Shark….oh sweet lovable irony

    • Jesse B. Hammer

…Was that on MeTV by any chance?
…Anyhow, now that CNN got its azz kicked by a girl (as Trump did), who wants to bet whether CNN will stop carrying DT’s water versus whether CNN will come after DT like a loan-shark for failing the ratings he’d promised CNN for carrying his water? No, seriously: CNN’s been behaving since DT’s kickoff as if he were the nominee & needn’t be bothered with this “primary & convention-delegate stuff”…yet it’s “lost on Trumpanzees” as to why CNN would care who the R-nominee is since we know they want Hillary for PREZ. Could it be that CNN suspects Trump’s the least unelectable candidate versus Hillary? ……….NAAAAH.

      • spankovision

Stop it! You are to common sensical

  • tops116 ✓Quipper

So, Trump supporters are as good as organizing boycotts as Trump is at organizing a campaign. That has a certain symmetry to it.

    • vetgal1970

I don’t think they are doing it right. They keep saying they are boycotting and turning it off ‘forevah’ but continue to comment on content of the shows, which suggests that they are still watching.

      edited to add this example:

Jammedand1 @FoxNews you rallied behind Megyn Kelly + ur ratings are in the Shitter. Meg’s guests still can’t stop swinging on Trumps Nuts. #Winning

      • ricoliv

You have to hand it to those classy Trumpkins, though: When it comes to the finer points of the English language, they are nonpareils. Who else could use such elegant terms as “in the Shitter” and “Trump’s nuts”– and carry it off with such elan?

        • vetgal1970

  • rodlang

Megyn Kelly’s (and O’Reilly’s) ratings still holding up despite threats of boycotts.

      It’s like tweets don’t equal action…weird.

Great, now how are we supposed to defeat ISIS?

          • Tessa from Texas

For some reason, I always like to see words with “X” in them–poor little “X” really gets neglected in the English language.

          • bil_g

Right?! “Y” is just so overplayed. ;-P

  • LinTaylor ✓vitrified

It’s almost like Trump fans are nothing more than loud-mouthed idiots…just like their hero.

They ruined Breitbart. Rather ironic that Andrew wasn’t a fan of Trump.

      • Suzyqpie

I would go with tarnished not ruined.

    • ricoliv

Who could have seen that coming, right?

  • Arttie the Deplorable

Lesson for Little Debbie, just schedule your debates whenever. You do not have to worry about hiding then since few people other than MSM watch.

    • Acuda4me ✓Please!

To be fair, CNN and MSNBC are great places to hide stuff you don’t want seen.

      • Ricky Ricardo

        In your dreams child.

        • Acuda4me ✓Please!

Obviously, Little Ricky, you haven’t heard about The Kelly File out-performing last night’s Geritol Debate on CNN yet. Bless your heart.

  • Socal444

There is a definite progression to Trump’s actions. First, he threatens to sue Cruz, who is at fault for him unfairly losing Iowa. After all, how could The Great Donald Trump lose to lowly Ted Cruz? The next step will be the Trump death spiral, which he will exacerbate by his inane remarks, until the final step, which will be….wait for it….he will run as an independent, and f..k up everything. Hillary will run the country from her jail cell unless she pardons herself (can she do that?)!

    • DevilDocNowCiv

If she gets a pen and a phone in the clink, sure. We’ve had politicians serve in Jail. It depends on what the law says, not “what’s right.” They;ve been teaching that there’s no right and wrong for some time now in school, and plenty of normal people are open to the philosophical “it depends on what you think of as right.”

After all, she has seen her husband get away with huge corruption in and out of office, her own corruption still mostly OK (she never had the repubs anyway, and even many Repub women would vote for her), and Obama getting away with so, so much. So she is clearly counting on getting away with her amazing “Secret Server” and the huge buck making that was coordinated on it.

I don’t think she fears prosecution, and is ready to tear down the Dem party pushing it to stick with her in a war with the FBI if necessary. And I dont think the FBI wants that fight.

      • Petrucio14

I don’t think the FBI is afraid of ol’ cancles.

        • Suzyqpie

I speculate the FBI is intimidated by the CiC. Right right right the FBI is independent and not political. Just like AG Lynch is, uh, independent. I keep forgetting those antediluvian aspects of our governance.

        • DevilDocNowCiv

Fear? I dont know, but look at how long an FBI investigation is going on.

Thousands of Americans who work with classified material are in jail. Many are poorer due to fines and legal costs, with many broken
marriages besides. Each one of them due to less mishandling of classified stuff than
          Hillary has mishandled.

Yet Hillary isn’t officially being investigated,
just her Secret Server. And that “not officially her” FBI investigation is still on a long drawn out timeline.

So, average Joe and Jane- arrested by now.
Hillary – still not officially named in the FBI investigation.

Fear? I dont know, bro, but the stark contrast in her case and the thousands of others is right there. It begs for an explanation. For instance, the only one I have seen so far makes no sense. It’s that the case against her is being built up more.

There is far more than enough right now for prison time. Any prosecution can have continued investigation and charges added. So logic says present case to Attorney General for Grand Jury, to get indictment. Then an actual criminal investigation of Hillary begins.

So that excuse is gone, and I haven’t seen another. I see this FBI “server investigation” with a reputed 100 FBI agents continuing until after the election.

  • interestedobserver2

Is it my imagination, or have the Trumpbots been very quiet on here since, oh, I don’t know, Monday evening?

    • Giuseppe Franco

They may be rather quiet in here but they are just as batshit crazy as ever over at Breitbart with their tinfoil hats on fitting nice and snug.

      • interestedobserver2

Can you imagine what will happen if his Trumpness manages to lose in NH too? The heads exploding may rival the Hiroshima bomb…

        • Giuseppe Franco

If and when Trump’s campaign finally crashes and burns, Breitbart will become Jonestown.

    • genes ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵈᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ

  • ricoliv

As though we needed additional proof, Trump’s supporters have shown themselves to be the juvenile poor sports that The Donald is– only with half the intelligence. Those besotted dupes appear to have the attention span of a three-year-old, conveniently forgetting that Dear Donald once lavished praise on the reportorial skills of the same person he now calls “a lightweight.” It is one thing for him to be so childish, but one might expect something resembling maturity from his claque of aging fankids.

Trump has got to be the sickest person that’s ever run for President.
Besides the fact that he has two tics that irritate the heck out of me. With his right hand he seems to be always trying to use some sort of sign language, while having the constant need to touch the microphone at least twice while speaking(either superstitious or a Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)
