Ben Carson announced Tuesday afternoon that he’d be suspending all campaign activities after members of his team were injured in a car accident.
I'm suspending all campaign activities today due to a car accident involving members of our team. Full statement: https://t.co/Uf9HZrn2P6

In his statement, Carson explained that a van transporting three campaign volunteers and a Carson campaign employee in Iowa hit a patch of ice and flipped on its side, where it was struck by another vehicle. Three of the passengers were being checked out at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa, while one volunteer was transported to the trauma center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Earlier today, before the accident, Carson had challenged followers to change their Facebook profile pictures to read, “In God We Trust.” As news of the car crash spread, Carson’s challengers offered their prayers.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to @RealBenCarson, his campaign staff and their volunteers today. Praying for quick recoveries!
