As Twitchy reported Wednesday night, Warren Central Junior High in Mississippi was evacuated after a student informed authorities that another student had shown him a “homemade IED.” A bomb-sniffing dog later discovered the IED, and it was “rendered safe” by a bomb squad in a nearby field.
Though the Clinton Police Department bomb squad, which removed and detonated the explosive, claimed that the device would have caused “little to no damage” if it had been detonated, it was indeed a working IED.

Though police would not release the names or ages of the students, reporters noted that one of the two students detained is just 13 years old.
Police executed a search warrant at the student's home, found materials believed to be used in constructing the device.
