We’ve seen plenty of posts (here are a couple in particular) suggesting that if the suspect in the Planned Parenthood shootings in Colorado Springs were any race but white, there would have been no chance he would have been taken alive.
The Washington Post’s Wesley Lowery notes that the Colorado FOP posted a message to its Facebook site early today providing a copy-and-paste reply to anyone making that argument on social media. The union didn’t mince words, addressing the post to the “race baiting morons” and “delusional fools” who base their world view on the false narrative that is “Hands up, don’t shoot.”
Earlier today, Colorado FOP posted this statement on FB, decrying "race baiting morons" pic.twitter.com/UewcYI2gRE

@WesleyLowery Well, I for one find the name calling and condescension extremely convincing.

@WesleyLowery "The choice to live or die was his" is a pretty fucking key sentence here. Are they missing that many aren't given a choice?

@WesleyLowery – So, Tamir Rice was given a chance to surrender? Really? @ColoradoFOP
— Hesiod Theogony (@Hesiod2k11) November 29, 2015
@WesleyLowery you know the crazier part Tamir Rice didn't get any time to comply. He didn't get told anything at all.

@aseaborne @WesleyLowery for every single case u cite- they are dozens of not hundreds that were simply arrested.
— Rbbii (@rbdublei) November 29, 2015
@rbdublei @WesleyLowery That's not the point ALL should be taken Alive, every single one. It should be harder to kill people not easier.
— Alexandria Seaborne (@aseaborne) November 29, 2015
@WesleyLowery Numerous police officer shootings by black men this year that ended with black man alive? Seriously. Who?
— PamIam (@ChiCityPam) November 29, 2015
@WesleyLowery This reads like it was written by race baiting delusional fools with an agenda of hate.

@WesleyLowery Shameful…
— gracemwmonk (@gmmmmnnxk) November 29, 2015
@WesleyLowery It's shocking in its complete lack of perspective and objectivity.
— Keeper of the Pop (@KeeperofthePop) November 29, 2015
@WesleyLowery Note the police union's use of the "all lives matter" dog whistle.
— MJB (@mjbx101) November 29, 2015
@WesleyLowery That's why I say they are #1 on a list of things to get rid of and start over. FOPs are a criminal gang of thugs.
— Black Girl Justice (@dodi70) November 29, 2015
@WesleyLowery Condemned by their own words. You think they don't carry that resentment with them into the streets?
— Rick Gerwin (@rjgerwin) November 29, 2015
@WesleyLowery @SnarkAmendment yeah he was taken alive after killing a cop and two others… just like Michael Brown… oh wait…

@WesleyLowery My niece's husband is on the SWAT team in Colorado Springs. The man surrendered instead of wrestling w/them. Not a race issue.

@WesleyLowery Woahhhh. I just wrote them a long email thanking them for a great job and living up to the "serve & protect" tenet. Wtf?!?
