Hearing Sen. Bernie Sanders draw a direct link between terrorism and climate change at Saturday’s #DemDebate was less shocking than hearing Sen. Bernie Sanders agree with what the Obama administration has been insisting on for years now: climate change is the most important threat facing the United States.

Former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel testified in October 2014 that climate change was changing the way the military executed its missions.
In our defense strategy, we refer to climate change as a “threat multiplier” because it has the potential to exacerbate many of the challenges we are dealing with today – from infectious disease to terrorism.
Following an interview with Vox in February, press secretary Josh Earnest confirmed that the president indeed considered climate change a greater threat than terrorism. Not to mention that in March, Slate explained that the rise of ISIS could be attributed to “climate migrants.”

Sanders links climate change to terrorism because he was worried that conservatives hadn't stereotyped him sufficiently.

Bernie Sanders just said, one day after Paris, that climate change causes terror. But Islam has nothing to do with it. He's insane.

Any other impersonal weather patterns you'd like to blame, Democrats, for Muslim terrorists murdering people?
— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) November 15, 2015
Yes, I'm sure climate change causes ISIS. Because it's not like the f***ing desert has been hot for hundreds of thousands of years.

@benshapiro I'd get cranky in that heat too.
