Report: Florida man hoped to bomb Kansas City Memorial Stair Climb honoring 9/11 first responders

A criminal complaint alleges that 20-year-old Joshua Goldberg of Orange Park, Fla., had planned to detonate some sort of explosive device at Sunday’s annual Kansas City Stair Climb, which honors 9/11 first responders each year.

“Hopefully there will be some jihad on the anniversary of 9/11,” the suspect wrote on August 17, according to the complaint.
