The #FightFor15 movement, complete with its “Poverty Is Violence” banners, finally bore fruit in Los Angeles, where the city council this spring passed as measure to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour … by 2020. Seattle must have its $15 minimum wage in place by 2021. By then, just about every McDonald’s in each city should have self-serve kiosks installed.
Every since Vox analyzed its upcoming all-day breakfast and found “the reality is that McDonald’s just wants to make money,” we’ve learned not to trust McDonald’s. Are these self-serve kiosks just a tool to avoid paying a $15 minimum wage? Or is there more to it?
