The victim who was killed and one of the injured victims are Sacramento City College students, according to Los Rios Police Community College District spokesperson Mitchel Benson. The injured student was taken to UC Davis Medical Center with a gunshot to the abdomen.

A freshman student who witnessed the shooting described the suspect firing at the victims and walking casually toward Freeport Boulevard.
“I am walking out of class and I see this lunatic shooting two men, and I run the other direction because I feared him turning around and shooting me,” said the student who wants to remain anonymous.
Police say another shooting this morning that injured a man in a nearby neighborhood could be related. A man whose description matches that of the campus shooter allegedly shot a man through the front windshield of his vehicle as he was leaving for work.
