As Twitchy reported, a woman protesting a 20-week abortion ban in Wisconsin chained herself to a railing in the state’s Capitol, demanding that Republican men in the Assembly hear her out.
The photos of protester Wendi Kent chained to the bannister were sad in so very many ways, but they beg the question: where is everybody?
When the Texas legislature voted two years ago this week, following an 11-hour filibuster by state Sen. Wendy Davis, to ban nearly all abortions after 20 weeks, several protesters attempted to chain themselves to a railing in the gallery, with the more creative also covering themselves in fake blood.
While several protesters wearing dresses smeared with fake blood were dragged from the chamber, others who literally packed the hallways just outside, some wearing tampons in protest, broke into a rendition of Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” Of course, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards was there to observe the proceedings.
Wisconsin’s lonely protester shouldn’t feel that Richards has abandoned the cause. She’s busy this week hosting #PPGeneration, training the next generation of pro-abortion activists.
