CBS Philly is reporting this afternoon that as many as six police officers were injured when a hit-and-run driver struck them with his car in the Olney section of the city. The suspect was shot by a police officer and taken into custody a short time later.

The suspect as well as at least two if not three of the officers were taken to the Albert Einstein Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

NBC 10 reports that officers had the suspect’s burgundy Chrysler surrounded and were trying to coax him out of the car when he sped off, knocking them back.

Update:

CBS 3 reports that four police officers have been hospitalized along with the suspect, whose father says his son suffered a seizure.

Video of the incident has surfaced.
